Sean comes from three generations of restaurant owners and has worked in kitchens since he was just 12 years old. In this episode, he shares what he loves most about kitchens, why he plans to hang out in them well into retirement, and how they've kept him connected to his family throughout his life.
"I think, I think mainly it's family. It really is. And it is truly like the big equalizer. When it gets down to it, like there's, I've never met a true racist person that has lived in a kitchen. You just, you can't be. It's a family and you just feel comfortable with them because you spend so much time and you can end up finishing their stories, and you still don't get sick of them. And, they more importantly, they don't get sick of you.
You know, there's an expression — we're all here because we're all not there. And that's what you get in the restaurant world."
