Ana asks Pedro to tell the story of his wedding day in Peru almost 50 years ago. The mayor of the town officiated, and humorously, it didn’t exactly go according to plan. Below, Pedro talks about meeting, falling in love, and proposing to his wife.
It was kind of like a, something like you dream, you know, having you, a dream girl...you know, with the wind blowing on her hair and stuff like that.
I think she invited me one time to her house and she fixed ceviche. And then she made some beans and something. And then I say. Pfew. That's it. She got me by the, she got me by the food, you know, because I love to eat.
I remember it was a full moon. I don't know if she remembers. I remember going to this field, you know, with her and, uh, I think I asked her, you know, And she, she say yes. And I was flying like on the clouds, you know.
