How to use Storyworth Memoirs

With Storyworth Memoirs you can tell a lifetime of stories through a year of weekly questions. Write or audio record memories, then preserve them for generations in a beautiful keepsake book. We treat memoir creation like a conversation, allowing family and friends to grow closer while learning more about the person sharing their story. Here's how it works.

Navigating your Storyworth experience

  1. Designate the storyteller and recipients

The storyteller is the person who will be sharing their story. Recipients are friends or family members who are added to the storyteller's account and will be able to choose question prompts and will receive the storyteller's stories as they are written. A subscription to Storyworth Memoirs includes unlimited recipients, so add as many loved ones as you'd like!

  2. The storyteller starts answering questions

Each week, the storyteller will receive an email with a question prompt. We’ll suggest a question for that week, but storytellers and recipients can choose a different Storyworth question from our library or write their own. Questions can be sent and answered for the duration of the one-year Storyworth Memoirs subscription.

When the storyteller gets the question email, they can simply hit "reply" to respond by  email. Once they hit "send," the story is saved to their Storyworth account along with any attached photos. Storytellers can also submit their stories and photos directly on their Storyworth account by writing or voice recording stories over the phone.

  3. Create your book

After a year of writing and reflecting, you have the option to compile all the stories and photos into a hardcover keepsake book. To start, log into your Storyworth account to download a PDF draft of your book to review. Edit and arrange the stories as needed, check that all your images are there, and confirm the formatting with our easy-to-use tools. Don’t forget to place your order! We don't automatically print books.

  4. Enjoy your keepsake

Once you have made your last edits, you can order a high-quality bound book of your stories and photos. The standard Storyworth Memoirs subscription includes one hardcover book (6 x 9 inches) with a color cover and black-and-white interior. You can order additional books or upgrade to full color for an extra cost at print time.

  5. Keep sharing stories

When your first year comes to an end, you'll have the option to renew your subscription to keep asking your storyteller questions.

At Storyworth, our mission is to connect people through meaningful stories, so even if you don’t continue your subscription, we hope you continue to share your stories with loved ones. We believe everyone has a story worth sharing.
